Foreign opinion about Kiev

Not so long ago, I read awesome article about "101 Reasons to Love Kiev" by the Ukrainian Penguin.
As for me, some of this reasons really great, I also like this city due to springtime, train picnics, babushkas, summer, boulevards, semki, taranka (dried fish) and other different sightseeings like Andryivsky descent, Rodina Mat or Museum of Miniature.

Also in Kiev you can see some strange things as for foreigner, like  "you can pay for your Marshrutka by passing your money to the person in front of you", "Ukrainians take many superstitions to be indisputable facts", "Old People waltzing in the Teatranla Metro stationor  "Ukrainians will tell you what they think and they will ask you direct questions. Its both awkward and refreshing".
And all this is really true. So you can read all list on Ukrainian Penguin blog, and prepare to Kiev's life.

There are a lot of different exhibition centers in Ukrainian capital. The most popular of them are International Exhibition Center on metro station Livoberezhna, Expocenter on metro station Exhibition Center and Kiev Expo Plaza near Nyvky. All of them have very convenient location not far from metro.
Every week some interesting business, corporate or entertainment events take part there.  So if you will organize some huge presentation, forum, performance or concert  you can  rent one of this areas.
By the way, last weekend there was an interesting presentation of different motorbikes in International Exhibition Center. Here you can see some photos from this show.

New Maslyana in Kyiv

expo_centerIf you will visit Ukraine in early spring, the weather will not prevent your trip. On this weekend Kyiv was full of different entertainments. The most impressive was new Maslyana. A big open-air exhibition on metro station “Exhibition Centre”.
ukrainian_dollsThis territory was full of Ukrainian spirit and culture. Straw scarecrows that looked on you all over and a big samovars from which you would drunk some tea made this unusual special entourage. You could see here people in national clothes, eat different national dishes or buy hand made Ukrainian dolls and tableware. People, who has already visited Pirogovo, will saw that this exhibition had a lot of in common with open-air museum spirit.
From ancient times people celebrate Maslenitsa. It is associated with the ending of winter and beginning of spring. In Christian religion, Maslenitsa is the last week before the onset of Great Lent, during which, milk, cheese and other dairy products are permitted.

Central Military Hospital

This hospital is one of the oldest medical institutions of Ukraine. It was founded in June 1755. Central Military Hospital located in the center of the Kiev between Klovska and Palats Sportu metro stations on Gospitalna Street 18.
Nowadays hospital has 18 medical and diagnostic clinics, modern laboratory center, the center of beam diagnostics and therapy (ultrasound), the department of functional diagnostics and pharmaceutical facilities. The capacity of hospital is 1125 beds, is being treated here every year more than 25,000 patients.
Also it's a very beautiful architectural building with a museum on it's territory. This Kiev fortress has one of the biggest in Europe earthen fortress, preserved by 80-90% in the center of city. Integral part of the hospital building of the Kiev fortress - Diagon caponier (Kosoy caponier) was built in 1844 as a defensive structure in the system of New Pechersk Hospital fortress. Not all citizens of Ukraine know about this famous building.
It's a pity that here we haven't excursions and no one wants to do the restoration. So in a few years it will be completely destroyed, that's why you must visit it as soon as you can :)
